Starting March 13, 2026, SSL/TLS certificates will have a shorter maximum validity period - the limit will be reduced to 199 days. Therefore, when purchasing a one-year product, at least one free of charge reissue will be required during the product’s validity period.

The maximum validity period of individual SSL certificates is reduced to 199 days. The one-year product remains available, but:
The certificate issued under the product must comply with the current validity limits, therefore when using a one-year product you will need to perform at least one certificate reissue during the product validity period.
This means that you purchase a one-year product, but you do not receive a single certificate valid for the entire year. Instead, you receive the ability to issue new certificates multiple times at no additional cost, each compliant with the current maximum validity limit.
Why is this changing?
These changes, introduced by the CA/Browser Forum w Ballot CSC-31, are intended to improve security by increasing the reliability of certificates.
Example timeline for a one-year product:
1. Day 0 – Product activation
You activate the product and issue the first certificate valid for up to 199 days.
2. Before day 199 – required reissue.
You must issue a new certificate
- The process is free of charge.
- Your domain validation and your organization’s identity validation may be reused if they are still valid.
- You will receive email notifications in advance about the certificate’s expiration to ensure continuous protection of your domain.
3. Issuance of the second certificate
You receive a new certificate valid for 199 days or for the remaining time of the product period.
Result:
Thanks to the reissue process, you maintain continuous protection of your domain, even though a single certificate cannot be valid for more than 199 days.
